Pros: Excellent sensitivity, feature rich, automotive and hiking navigation, solid construction
Cons: Limited basemap, smallish screen, low alert tone volume
The Bottom Line: The Garmin 60CSx is an excellent state of the art handheld GPS receiver that satisfies the needs of the driver, hiker, geocacher and jumpmaster.
Review: My needs were for a handheld GPS receiver that could be used for both hiking and automobile navigation. I had been using a Garmin eMap in this way for five years but found having to enter in each navigation route waypoint-by-waypoint to be quite a chore. ...

Pros: New antenna/receiver is highly accurate, fast, and has great coverage.
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: This unit is the first of the next generation of handheld outdoor GPS units. The accuracy, satellite reception, and features make this unit a must-have.
Review: My workplace purchased this unit at my request about three months ago. It is a step above every other similar unit that I've ever used (I am a scientist and work with GPS, GIS, and remote sensing technologies on a daily basis). We bought this unit for ...

Cons: Sometimes TOO sensitive, directions it calculates are sometimes odd.
The Bottom Line: I love this GPS receiver and use it for both car navigation and for hiking and geocaching. It's great both in the car and in the field.
Review: I couldn't wait for this model to come out in January 2006, and I bought one as soon as it was available. The reasons I bought it were: - It has a base map (my old Garmin 12XL had NO map), AND you can purchase the road atlas CDs and download them to ...

Pros: Excellent technology, well designed, lots of features and very robust.
Cons: Some software clumsiness and map data that needs work.
The Bottom Line: If you want a great piece of technology, then this unit is worth looking into.

Cons: Extremely weak speaker.
The Bottom Line: Would buy again and would recommend to anybody in need of an excellent all-around general purpose nav device.
Review: This is by far the best receiver I've had (the third) Under normal outdoor use, one should never get "satellite reception lost". Even indoors in many places it works just fine. I got this for a secondary nav unit and for geocaching. It is adequate for ...

Pros: Highly recommended GPS unit
Cons: Sorry, none yet (possibly cheaper two-way sticky)
The Bottom Line: This is my second Garmin. The first one was 5 years old used every day and still works. This one is even better. HIGHLY recommended.
Review: This is the second GPS reciever I bought. The first one was also a Garmin, the Emap. The Emap was a monochrome setup and lasted me 5 years of EVERYDAY use. As a technician, I have several pieces of dedicated equipment in my truck. I used the GPS unit as ...
